Music Review of The Grand Archives by Grand Archives
The Grand Archives opens with the soothing and somewhat cute “Torn Blue Foam Couch”. It’s more like a pop rock track where Mat sings effortlessly accompanied by the orchestra-like music. As always, Torn Blue Foam Couch starts off by climbing up stairs and building up tempo.

Music Review: Franz Ferdinand, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand isn’t dance-rock, its disco-rock. The album wears its influences proudly, featuring elements of disco, dub, acid house and afro-beat. Somehow, though, the band is able to maintain its distinctive deadpan humor.
Bike instrument will take over the solo
?Here’s an oldie, the “Bikelophone System” from 1995 is a slide instrument consisting of magnetic pickups attached to the body of a bicycle so that anything connected to or effecting the bike is amplified. Objects wired up included bass strings, scrap wood, metal bowls, and a tone generator which apparently created some “cacophonic terror”. Still, a pretty cool build on this instrument which looks like it might be perfect for a solo. Bikelophone via Networked Music Review Read more | Permal

Music Review of Swimming by French Kicks
Swimming let us in with the well-performed “Abandon”. I like the way the guitar opens with the handclaps, giving you indication that this song will instantly click with you. In the chorus, Nick let it go with “Ah…” while the remaining French Kicks continued playing their instruments to make sure they hit the listeners straight at this first track.

Music Review: Eliane Elias – Bossa Nova Stories (Blogcritics.org)
The multi-talented queen of Brazilian jazz celebrates the music of her homeland and invites us to the party. Not gonna make you wait on this one. No beating around the bush, no hemming and hawing – well OK, a little – but the simple truth is that Brazilian jazz icon Eliane Elias’ newest album, Bossa Nova Stories, is one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. It’s a new issue on the Blue Note …
